Update: Gold Star Specialty Plate New Design Availability

WYDOT expects to be able to process renewal applications for Gold star license plates in mid-November. 

WYDOT expects to be able to accept applications for new Gold star license plates in mid-December.

WYDOT will be sending out renewal letters on a quarterly basis depending on when your current specialty plate expires. Early renewal is not an option, even with paper applications. Those with low numbers will be given a chance to keep their numbers.

The following items must be mailed with your application:

• A copy of death certificate or other documentation indicating the service member's death while a member of the armed forces. Do not submit an original.

If approved, your license plates will be forwarded to the County Treasurer's Office you indicated on the application.

The $30 application fee will be paid by the Wyoming Veteran's Commission.
