WYDOT utilized a variety of sources in putting this project grant together. Office resources, field observations and reports, interagency papers, and scientific reviews were just a few of the methods for gathering data. For the purposes of this grant, two sets of statistics proved invaluable. The reported crash records and the carcass lists provided accurate analysis of the past costs of wildlife vs. vehicle encounters and the projected costs for the 50-year life of the project.
