2022 Holiday Restrictions
New Years Day 2022, loads requiring escorts will not be allowed to travel from ½ hour after sunset December 30th to ½ hour before sunrise January 3rd. Ports of Entry are closed New Years Day.
*Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday, no travel restrictions.
*Presidents Day, no travel restrictions
Memorial Day, loads requiring escorts will not be allowed to travel from ½ hour after sunset May 27th to ½ hour before sunrise May 31st. Ports of Entry are closed on Memorial Day.
Independence Day, loads requiring escorts will not be allowed to travel from ½ hour after sunset July 1st to ½ hour before sunrise July 5th. Ports of Entry are closed July 4th.
Labor Day, loads requiring escorts will not be allowed to travel from ½ hour after sunset September 2nd to ½ hour before sunrise September 6th . Ports of Entry are closed on Labor Day.
*Veteran’s Day, No travel restrictions
Thanksgiving Day, loads requiring escorts will not be allowed to travel from ½ hour after sunset November 23rd to ½ hour before sunrise November 25th. Ports of Entry are closed on Thanksgiving Day.
Christmas Day, loads requiring escorts will not be allowed to travel from ½ hour after sunset December 23rd to ½ hour before sunrise December 27th. Ports of Entry are closed on Christmas Day.
New Year’s Day 2023, loads requiring escorts will not be allowed to travel from ½ hour after sunset December 29th to ½ hour before sunrise January 2nd. Ports of Entry are closed New Years Day.
* Ports of Entry will have minimum staffing, day shift only, for issuance of oversize and/or overweight permits. Hours are generally 8:00am to 4:00pm. Loads requiring permits must contact the Port of Entry prior to entering the state. On the holidays the Ports of Entry are closed, non-escorted loads requiring an oversize or overweight permit must have the valid permit in the drivers possession. Operating on a clearance number is illegal.
